Guinness World Record
On Saturday March 2, 2013, Theresa Dugwell enhanced her current Guiness World Record for the longest distance run by a woman (in her age category) on a treadmill in 12 hours. She ran a total of 60.15 miles, exceeding her previous record of 58.05 miles. The event took place at the North York YMCA at Bayview and Sheppard, Toronto, Canada, starting at 12 AM for 12 hours. The Y supported this effort and there were many other athletes participating at the same time providing additional support during Theresa's attempt.
At the completion of Theresa's run, an adjudicator from Guinness World Records presented Theresa with a certificate of official recognition of her accomplishment.
Theresa is the co-author of the book 'Power Source For Women'. She sets an example of what is possible and serves as a role model for us all.
Another Milestone
Pat M. has run around the world ... literally! Pat began keeping track since 1980 of all of her runs, not missing a single entry in 30+ years. The accounting entries alone are worthy of praise. At the end of 2012, Pat reached the distance of 24,901 miles (40,075 KM) and in doing so, has run around the world, at its widest point.
And, as of 2022, Pat has run all of the Terry Fox runs (40) ... as well as collecting donations for the foundation!
Congratulations Pat!
